Hang out

It sounds surface when people say what you wear indicate your personality and lifestyle. However, it is undeniable that people do have some perceptions of us based on our outfit looks. And the perceptions of us do play certain roles in our social life. The social life factor in clothing motivates people seeking helps from close friends to professional stylists. It also explains why many people go clothing shopping together.

As an expat, living in New York, I see the challenge of being together. The schedule is tight. Life pace is fast. Luckily, thanks to technology, smartphones, I sense the missing “together” probably can be managed on it. (Honestly, my smartphone is together with me very closely.)

When we chat on the messengers, “like” a post on Facebook, “pin” a photo on Pinterest, we can also “hang” an outfit and ask for recommendations of friends.
